He is also the founder of AdKeeper, a technology platform for managing online advertising. Kurnit was born in New York City and graduated from Harvard University in 1976. He began his career in the media industry, working for CBS and then as a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group. In 1994, he founded The About Group, which was acquired by IAC in 2005. Kurnit is an active investor in early-stage technology companies. He is a board member of several companies, including AppNexus, Apptopia, and the New York Times Company. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the American Museum of Natural History.
