Scott Porter is an American actor and singer. He is best known for his roles as Jason Street in the NBC television drama Friday Night Lights, George Tucker in The CW comedy-drama series Hart of Dixie, and as the voice of Cyclops in the Marvel Animated Features.
Porter was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and raised in the nearby town of Gretna. He attended Gretna High School and graduated in 1997. He then attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Porter began his acting career in 2003, appearing in the film The Human Stain. He then went on to appear in the television series Cold Case, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Veronica Mars. In 2006, he was cast as Jason Street in the NBC drama series Friday Night Lights. He appeared in all five seasons of the show, which ended in 2011.
In 2011, Porter was cast as George Tucker in The CW comedy-drama series Hart of Dixie. He appeared in all four seasons of the show, which ended in 2015.

In 2013, he debuted in the second season of the hugely popular video game series of The Walking Dead by Telltale Games as Luke, one of the main characters in the series. Porter also voiced another main character, Lukas, in Minecraft Story Mode by Telltale Games and Mojang. In 2017, Porter portrayed Colton "Colt" Cruise in the EA Sports game Madden NFL 18's Longshot mode.
In April 2013, Porter married casting director Kelsey Mayfield, a former University of Texas cheerleader whom he had met on the set of Friday Night Lights.
