He has designed numerous public buildings, including the National Theatre in Bucharest, the National Museum of Art in Bucharest, and the National Library of Romania. Cantacuzino studied architecture at the University of Bucharest and graduated in 1952. He then worked as an architect in the Ministry of Culture and National Education in Romania. In the 1960s, he was appointed as the chief architect of the Bucharest City Hall. Cantacuzino has received numerous awards for his work, including the Order of Cultural Merit in Romania, the Order of the Star of Romania, and the Order of the Romanian Crown.
