Serena Perrone is an American artist who was born in 1979 in St. Louis, Missouri. She is best known for her abstract paintings, which often feature bold colors and geometric shapes. She has exhibited her work in galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Perrone received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2002. She then went on to earn her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006. Perrone has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Art in America. She has also been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in 2011 and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2012. Perrone currently lives and works in Chicago, Illinois. She is represented by the Kavi Gupta Gallery in Chicago and the Galerie Lelong in New York City.

In 2016, Perrone was hired by PrattMWP College of Art and Design and later worked as a visiting critic at the Rhode Island School of Design. In the following years, she began teaching courses at Rhode Island School of Design and was nominated for a Pew Fellowship. In 2017, she was one of three artists selected to display a solo exhibit at The Print Center in Philadelphia.
