Shawkat Hossain Hiron is a Bangladeshi politician who has served as a Member of Parliament for Patuakhali-2 since 2008. He is a member of the Awami League, the ruling party in Bangladesh. Hiron was born on 15 October 1956 in Patuakhali, Bangladesh. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from Patuakhali Government College in 1978. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Dhaka in 1980. Hiron began his political career in 1982 when he was elected as a Member of Parliament for Patuakhali-2. He has been re-elected to the same seat in every election since then. He has also served as the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock from 2009 to 2013. Hiron is married and has two children. His net worth is estimated to be around $2 million.
