Sigmund Vangsnes was a Norwegian politician and trade unionist. He was born in 1926 in the municipality of Vanylven in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. He was a member of the Norwegian Labour Party and served as a Member of Parliament from 1965 to 1977. Vangsnes was a member of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions from 1952 to 1965, and was the chairman of the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions from 1965 to 1977. He was also a member of the Norwegian Labour Party's central committee from 1965 to 1977. Vangsnes was a member of the Norwegian Parliament from 1965 to 1977, representing the Møre og Romsdal county. He was also a member of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs from 1965 to 1977. Vangsnes died in 2017 at the age of 91.
