He later attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a master's degree in music composition. Sucharitkul has written several novels, including Vampire Junction, The Vampire of Ropraz, and The Moonstone Mass. He has also written several short stories, plays, and musicals. He has composed music for film and television, including the score for the film The King and I. Sucharitkul is the founder and artistic director of the Bangkok Opera, which he founded in 1989.
