He has also composed music for films, television, and theater. Tafjord was born in Langevåg, Norway, and began playing the piano at the age of five. He studied classical music at the Bergen Conservatory of Music, and later studied jazz and improvisation at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. Tafjord has released several solo albums, including "The White Willow" (1995), "The Edge of Sanity" (1998), and "The Path of the Sun" (2001). He has also composed music for films, television, and theater, including the Norwegian film "The King's Choice" (2016). Tafjord is married to singer and songwriter Kari Bremnes, and they have two children. He currently lives in Bergen, Norway.
