Steven H. Scheuer was an American television producer and writer. He was born in New York City on January 9, 1926. He attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a degree in English. Scheuer began his career in television in the 1950s, working as a writer and producer for various shows. He was the creator and executive producer of the popular game show "Jeopardy!" from 1964 to 1975. He also wrote and produced the game show "Wheel of Fortune" from 1975 to 1982. Scheuer was also the executive producer of the television series "The Love Boat" from 1977 to 1986. He was also the executive producer of the television series "Fantasy Island" from 1978 to 1984. Scheuer was the recipient of numerous awards, including two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Game Show in 1975 and 1976. He was also the recipient of the Writers Guild of America Award for Outstanding Achievement in Television Writing in 1975. Scheuer passed away on April 8, 2020 at the age of 94.
