He is also the founder and chairman of the Rome Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families in need. Rome was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1953. He attended the University of Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. After college, he worked in the banking industry before founding Rome Capital Group in 1989. Rome has been involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors, including the Rome Foundation, which he founded in 2004. The foundation has provided grants to organizations such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the American Red Cross, and the United Way.
