She received her BFA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 and her MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1984. She has been a professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder since 1988. Budge is known for her large-scale ceramic sculptures, which often incorporate found objects and are inspired by nature. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe, including the Denver Art Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Budge has received numerous awards and honors, including a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in 1994 and a Colorado Council on the Arts Fellowship in 1997. She received a BFA in ceramics from Texas Tech University in 1983, an MA from the University of Houston in 1987, and an MFA from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1999. She taught at San Jacinto College in Houston, San Antonio College, and the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she became a tenured full professor and Head of Ceramics.
