Sushil Chandra Varma is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 1980 to 1981. He was born on 24 February 1926 in Khandwa, Central Provinces and Berar, British India. He is a member of the Indian National Congress. Varma completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nagpur in 1947. He was elected to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1957 and served as a minister in the state government from 1967 to 1977. He was appointed as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in 1980 and served until 1981. Varma has been a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1982 to 1988 and from 1998 to 2004. He was also a member of the Lok Sabha from 1989 to 1998. He has served as the Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation from 1985 to 1988. Varma is married to Shanti Varma and has two sons and two daughters. He is currently 85 years old.
