Sverre Stenersen is a Norwegian former cross-country skier who competed in the 1950s and 1960s. He won a gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo. He also won a bronze medal in the 15 km event at the same Olympics. Stenersen was born in Målselv, Norway, on 18 June 1926. He began skiing at the age of five and competed in his first race at the age of nine. He made his international debut in 1950, and went on to win several Norwegian championships. At the 1956 Winter Olympics, Stenersen won a gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay, and a bronze medal in the 15 km event. He also competed in the 50 km event, but did not finish. Stenersen retired from competitive skiing in 1965, and went on to become a coach and a ski instructor. He was inducted into the International Ski Federation Hall of Fame in 2004. As of 2021, Sverre Stenersen's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
