Tim Payne is a British singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the band Keane. He has also released two solo albums, The Iron Sea (2006) and The Last Pint (2008). Payne was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, England. He attended St. Joseph's College in Swindon and later studied at the University of Southampton. Payne began his musical career in 1997, when he formed the band Keane with his school friends Dominic Scott and Richard Hughes. The band released their debut album, Hopes and Fears, in 2004, which went on to become one of the best-selling albums of the decade. The band has since released four more studio albums, Perfect Symmetry (2008), Strangeland (2012), Cause and Effect (2019), and their latest, The Way I Feel (2021). Payne has also released two solo albums, The Iron Sea (2006) and The Last Pint (2008). He has also collaborated with other artists, including The Streets, The Kooks, and The Killers. Payne has played in three Guinness Premiership finals in 2004, 2005 and 2008, winning them all.
