Tod Howarth is an American musician, songwriter, and producer. He is best known for his work with the bands Cheap Trick, Frehley's Comet, and 707. Born in San Diego, California, Howarth began playing guitar at the age of 12. He attended San Diego State University, where he studied music and composition. After college, he moved to Los Angeles and began playing in various bands. In 1983, Howarth joined Cheap Trick as a guitarist and backing vocalist. He toured with the band for two years and appeared on their album Standing on the Edge. He left the band in 1985 and went on to form the band Frehley's Comet with former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley. The band released two albums, Frehley's Comet and Second Sighting, before disbanding in 1988. In 1989, Howarth formed the band 707 with former Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos. The band released two albums, 707 and Mega Force, before disbanding in 1992. In the 1990s, Howarth worked as a producer and songwriter, writing songs for artists such as The Beach Boys, The Monkees, and The Go-Go's. He also released two solo albums, Tod Howarth and Tod Howarth II. In recent years, Howarth has continued to work as a producer and songwriter. He has also toured with various bands, including Cheap Trick, Frehley's Comet, and 707. As of 2021, Tod Howarth's net worth is estimated to be roughly $2 million.

2016

In June, 2016, Howarth, along with ex-Frehley's Comet bassist, John Regan, ex-Skid Row drummer, Rob Affuso, and guitarist Pat Gasperini, released an album under the band name Four By Fate. Entitled Relentless, the album was released by The End Records.

2010

His latest solo album, Opposite Gods was released independently in April 2010. In June 2012, he released a video single on YouTube of his single *"Cold Beach", filmed on location in the California desert. The video was shot and edited primarily by Vancouver producer Brian Sword.

2008

Howarth joined Cheap Trick again in 2008; at the 30th anniversary 2008 Budokan show, he was seen on stage playing the keyboard and supplying backing vocals. He was originally scheduled to participate in the 2008 Journey / Heart / Cheap Trick tour, but budget restrictions caused him to be unable to participate.

On December 14, 2008 he released an acoustic version of the Frehley's Comet classic "Time Ain't Runnin' Out" exclusively on his MySpace page.

Howarth's music career began in the early 1980s with the group 707. He has also performed with Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent and released four solo albums, the first in 1995. He also provided background vocals for Nugent's Penetrator album in 1984, and Loudness' album Hurricane Eyes in 1987.
