Delmar was born on 1 August 1963 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, graduating in 1985. Delmar's first television role was in the BBC series The Bill in 1988. He went on to appear in a number of other television shows, including Casualty, Holby City, and Doctors. He has also appeared in films such as The Mummy Returns (2001) and The Da Vinci Code (2006). Delmar is married to actress and singer Joanna Taylor. They have two children together. 2005

The International Stunt Academy invited him to become an Academician (Nov 22nd 2005). The title 'Academician' is given to exceptional individuals as a sign of respect and recognition of their contribution to the stunt art. Tom will be presented with the symbol of the Knights Spirit of Academy 'The Sword of Khrisaor & the Silver Breastplate', at the official ceremony in August 2006. He joins an elite list of Hollywood's greatest stunt professionals who have had the honor to be asked to join the Academy.

2003

The Moscow International Stunt Festival awarded him with a Prometheus Statue (winner) for stunt coordination for his contribution in the nomination "Best Stunt Feature Film 2003". The film, "Extreme Ops", was directed by Christian Duguay.

2002

Tom Delmar was invited by his peers to judge the World Stunt Championships at the "Moscow International Festival of Stunt Art and Cinematography. He presented the "Golden Prometheus Statue". [2002]

2000

Tom has been interviewed and appeared in the programs 'Hollywood's Greatest Stunts' and 'The Worlds Greatest Stunts' several times. For his contribution as stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director in films such as Snatch. (2000), Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002), The Little Vampire (2000), Long Time Dead (2002) and most recently for Extreme Ops (2002).

His passion for film and his need to express action and emotion in the same frame led him to start directing in 1998.

1987

He doubled many stars of the day including Steve Guttenberg, Sylvester Stallone, Ray Winston, Robbie Coltrane, Alfred Molina and many more !He started working as a stunt coordinator in 1987, over the next 25 years he would stunt coordinate and double in over 300 Film and TV shows working with the cream of Hollywood. Tom quickly applied his scientific background to his advantage when he started the 'Action Stunt Company' in which he designed and fabricated stunt equipment, air bags, tracking vehicles and camera rig's, the company is now one of the world leaders.

1984

He moved to London and attended the 'London City Lit' Actors training course and after spending 46 weeks working at the BBC and ITV in various rolls in front of camera he qualified for the British Stunt Register [1984]. He quickly found himself working as a young stunt man on some of the biggest Hollywood films of the time including James Cameron's Aliens and the action packed '007 James Bond' films through to Guy Ritchie's 'Snatch' and Georg Lucas's Star Wars (II).

1967

Born in the land of 'Braveheart' Scotland in 1967, Tom Delmar was brought up in the Cairngorm Mountains. As a young man he was a fabulous sportsman in many discipline's including fencing, skiing, swimming, Judo and ice hockey. At Glasgow University when not studying for his BSc in mathematics and computer science he could be found at the Army OTC (Officer Training Corps) where at weekends and holidays he learned many of the skills that he would use later as a young stunt man.
