At the age of 27 he became player for Tupapa Maraerenga FC, a local club team in Rarotonga, part of Cook Islands, his mother's birth country. He played in the Cooks for 1 year and then, at the age of 27 and in 2001 was transferred to New Zealand club, Wellington Diamond United.

Jamieson is the captain and the most experienced player of Cook Islands Men's National Football Team. He is the goalkeeper, has been a part of the team since 2000 and has played 31 official internationals including Club World Cup international qualifiers. He wears number 1 for his kit.

His greatest football accomplishments have been to receive the man of the match awards in the two biggest internationals of his career. One against Australia in 2000 and the other against New Zealand in 2004. In both games the Cook Islands lost 17–0 and 2–0 respectively.

Jamieson made his international debut for the Cook Islands in 2000. In 2007, Jamieson became infamous after sitting with the ball for over minute during a 2–0 defeat to Fiji.
