Trude Klecker is a 97-year-old Austrian skier who was born on 7 February, 1926 in Semmering. She is best known for her success in the alpine skiing events at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo, Norway, where she won a gold medal in the downhill event and a bronze medal in the slalom event. Klecker began skiing at the age of five and was a member of the Austrian national ski team from 1945 to 1956. She won the Austrian national downhill championship in 1951 and 1952, and was the first woman to win the downhill event at the 1952 Winter Olympics. Klecker retired from competitive skiing in 1956 and has since been involved in various ski-related activities, including coaching and working as a ski instructor. She is also a member of the International Ski Federation Hall of Fame. Klecker is unmarried and has no children. She currently resides in Semmering, Austria.
