Tulsi Giri was the fourth Prime Minister of Nepal, serving from 1975 to 1977. He was a member of the Nepali Congress party and was a leader of the democratic movement in Nepal. He was also the first Prime Minister of Nepal to be elected by the people. Giri was born in Siraha District, Nepal, on 26 September 1926. He studied at the Government High School in Kathmandu and then at the Government College in Banaras, India. He then went on to study law at the University of Calcutta. Giri was a member of the Nepali Congress party and was a leader of the democratic movement in Nepal. He was also the first Prime Minister of Nepal to be elected by the people. He was appointed Prime Minister in 1975 and served until 1977. During his tenure, he worked to improve the economy and to promote democracy in Nepal. Giri was also a member of the United Nations General Assembly from 1975 to 1977. He was also a member of the International Court of Justice from 1978 to 1981. Giri died on 28 April 2020 at the age of 93. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
