Tyler Willis is an American singer-songwriter and musician. He is best known for his work with the band The Black Keys, with whom he has released five studio albums. He has also released two solo albums, and has collaborated with a variety of other artists. Willis was born in Brownfield, Texas, and grew up in nearby Lubbock. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, and soon after began writing his own songs. He attended Texas Tech University, where he studied music and played in various bands. In 2002, Willis moved to Akron, Ohio, where he met Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, who would later become his bandmates in The Black Keys. The band released their debut album, The Big Come Up, in 2002, and have since released five more studio albums. Willis has also released two solo albums, The Fool (2008) and The Invisible Man (2011). He has collaborated with a variety of other artists, including The Flaming Lips, The Shins, and The Kills. Willis currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where he continues to write and record music.
