Uiliami Leilua Vi was born in 1925 in Tonga. He was a prominent Tongan politician and diplomat. He was the first Tongan to be appointed as a Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Tongan government. He was also the first Tongan to be appointed as a High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Uiliami Leilua Vi was a highly respected figure in Tonga and was known for his commitment to the Tongan people. He was a strong advocate for Tongan independence and was instrumental in the negotiations that led to Tonga's independence in 1970. Uiliami Leilua Vi was a member of the Tongan Parliament from 1965 to 1975. He was also a member of the Tongan Senate from 1975 to 1979. Uiliami Leilua Vi was a highly educated man and held a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Auckland. He was also a member of the Tongan Royal Family. Uiliami Leilua Vi passed away in 2009 at the age of 84. He was survived by his wife, four children, and numerous grandchildren.
