Unto Wiitala is a Finnish former professional ice hockey player who was born on 5 July 1925 in Finland. He played for the Finnish national team in the 1948 Winter Olympics and won a bronze medal. He also played for the Finnish national team in the 1952 Winter Olympics and won a silver medal. Wiitala began his professional career in 1945 with the Lahti Pelicans of the Finnish Elite League. He played for the Pelicans until 1952, when he moved to the United States to play for the Boston Olympics of the Eastern Hockey League. He played for the Olympics until 1956, when he returned to Finland to play for the Lahti Pelicans. He retired from professional hockey in 1959. Wiitala was inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame in 1985. He was also inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame in 1998. Wiitala is 94 years old and has a net worth of $1 million. He has earned his wealth through his career as a professional ice hockey player.
