Valentina Butnaru is a Moldovan journalist and television presenter. She is best known for her work on the Moldovan television channel ProTV Chișinău. She has been a presenter on the channel since its launch in 1997. Butnaru was born on 3 September 1958 in Vorniceni, Moldova. She graduated from the State University of Moldova in 1981 with a degree in journalism. She began her career as a journalist in 1982, working for the Moldovan newspaper Sfatul Țării. Butnaru has been a presenter on ProTV Chișinău since its launch in 1997. She is the host of the popular news program “ProTV News”, which she has been presenting since its launch in 1998. She is also the host of the weekly political talk show “ProTV Debate”. Butnaru is also a member of the Moldovan Journalists Union and the Moldovan Association of Journalists.
