Vlastimir Bankovic is a Serbian cinematographer who has worked on a number of films and television shows. He is best known for his work on the films The Fall of Yugoslavia (1992), The Wounds (1998), and The Trap (2007). Bankovic was born in Slavnik near Bojnik, Serbia, Yugoslavia. He studied cinematography at the Academy of Arts in Belgrade, graduating in 1967. He began his career as a cinematographer in the 1970s, working on a number of films and television shows. In 1992, Bankovic worked on the documentary The Fall of Yugoslavia, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. He also worked on the 1998 film The Wounds, which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival. In 2007, Bankovic worked on the film The Trap, which was nominated for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. He has also worked on a number of other films, including The Border Post (2006), The Life and Death of a Porno Gang (2009), and The Parade (2011). Bankovic has won numerous awards for his work, including the Golden Arena for Best Cinematography at the Pula Film Festival in 1998 and the Golden Camera 300 at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. He has also been nominated for a number of awards, including the European Film Award for Best Cinematography in 1998 and the Golden Frog at Camerimage in 2007.
