W.A. Andlauer was a cinematographer who worked in the early days of the motion picture industry. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 24, 1882. He began his career in the film industry in 1909, working as a cameraman for the Selig Polyscope Company. He worked on a number of films for the company, including the 1910 western The Cowboy Millionaire. In 1912, Andlauer moved to the Essanay Film Manufacturing Company, where he worked as a cinematographer on a number of films, including the 1914 western The Great Divide. He also worked on a number of films for the Universal Film Manufacturing Company, including the 1915 western The Fighting Sheriff. In 1916, Andlauer moved to the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, where he worked as a cinematographer on a number of films, including the 1917 western The Silent Man. He also worked on a number of films for the Fox Film Corporation, including the 1918 western The Great Adventure. Andlauer continued to work as a cinematographer until his retirement in the late 1920s. He died in Los Angeles, California, on April 15, 1945.
