He began his career as a cinematographer, working on short films and music videos. In 2016, Foster-Grundy made his feature film debut with The Pass, which he co-wrote and directed. The film was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. In 2019, Foster-Grundy directed the feature film The Last Tree, which was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Outstanding British Film.
