William Tyler is an American guitarist, composer, and producer. He was born on December 25, 1979 in Nashville, Tennessee. He is best known for his solo work, as well as his collaborations with Lambchop, Silver Jews, and Bonnie “Prince” Billy. Tyler began playing guitar at the age of 12, and by the time he was in high school, he was playing in local bands. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Tennessee, where he studied classical guitar. After college, he moved to New York City and began playing with various bands, including Silver Jews and Lambchop. In 2009, Tyler released his debut solo album, Behold the Spirit. The album was critically acclaimed and earned him a spot on the NPR Music list of the top 10 albums of the year. Since then, he has released several more solo albums, including Impossible Truth (2013), Modern Country (2016), and Goes West (2019). Tyler has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Lambchop, and Silver Jews. He has also composed music for films, including the 2016 documentary The Music of Strangers. As of 2021, William Tyler's net worth is estimated to be roughly $1 million.
