Yvon Gattaz is a French businessman and former president of the French employers' union, the Conseil National du Patronat Français (CNPF). He was born on 17 June 1925 in Jallieu, Isère, France. Gattaz studied at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Paris and began his career in the family business, Gattaz Frères, in 1947. He was appointed president of the CNPF in 1982 and held the position until 1992. During his tenure, he was a vocal advocate for economic liberalization and deregulation. Gattaz has been a member of the French Academy of Technologies since 1988 and was awarded the Legion of Honour in 1992. He is also a member of the French Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. Gattaz is married and has three children. He is 98 years old.
