Anders Nilsson is a Swedish former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Phoenix Coyotes. He was born on July 6, 1954 in Stockholm, Sweden. Nilsson began his professional career in the Swedish Elite League in 1974, playing for Djurgårdens IF. He was drafted by the New York Islanders in the third round of the 1974 NHL Amateur Draft, and made his NHL debut with the Islanders in the 1979–80 season. He was a member of the Islanders' Stanley Cup-winning team in 1980. Nilsson played in the NHL until the 1997–98 season, when he retired after playing for the Phoenix Coyotes. He was a two-time NHL All-Star, in 1982 and 1983. He was also a member of the Swedish national team at the 1984 and 1988 Winter Olympics. Nilsson is currently the goaltending coach for the Swedish national team. He is married to his wife, Lena, and has two children. As of 2021, Anders Nilsson's net worth is estimated to be $2 million.
