Andy Kerr is an American politician and environmental activist who served as a Democratic member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 1991 to 2001. He was born on May 29, 1955 in Creswell, Oregon. Kerr attended the University of Oregon, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1977. He then attended the University of Oregon School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1980. Kerr was first elected to the Oregon House of Representatives in 1990 and served until 2001. During his tenure, he was a leader in the fight to protect Oregon's environment, and he was instrumental in passing the Oregon Bottle Bill, which requires a deposit on beverage containers. Kerr has also served as the executive director of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters and the Oregon Environmental Council. He is currently the president of the Oregon Natural Resources Council. Kerr is married to his wife, Mary, and they have two children. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping.
