Anil Biswas was an Indian composer and music director who worked in the Hindi film industry. He was born in Barisal, Bengal Presidency, British India. He was one of the most successful music directors of the 1940s and 1950s. He composed music for over 100 films, including some of the most popular films of the era such as Anarkali, Barsaat, Aah, Awara, and Shree 420. He was known for his melodious compositions and his ability to create a unique sound for each film. He was also known for his collaborations with singers such as Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, and Mukesh. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1971 for his contribution to the Indian film industry. He passed away in 2003 at the age of 89.
