Anna Godbersen is an American author of young adult fiction. She is best known for her Luxe series, which follows the lives of wealthy Manhattan socialites in the late 19th century. She has also written the Bright Young Things series, which follows the lives of a group of friends in 1920s New York City. Godbersen was born in 1980 in the United States. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a degree in English literature. Godbersen's first novel, The Luxe, was published in 2008. It was followed by the sequels Rumors, Envy, and Splendor. The series was adapted into a television series by the CW in 2009. Godbersen's second series, Bright Young Things, was published in 2010. It consists of three books: A Touch of Stardust, A Certain Wolfish Charm, and The Last Kiss Goodbye. Godbersen has also written several stand-alone novels, including The Luxe Companion, The Glittering Court, and The Beautiful and the Cursed. Godbersen is currently working on a new series, The Darkest Star, which is set to be released in 2021.
