She is best known for her roles in the films Carry On Nurse (1959), Carry On Constable (1960), and Carry On Cleo (1964). Askey was born in London on 2 March 1933. She began her career as a child actress, appearing in the films The Happiest Days of Your Life (1950) and The Belles of St. Trinian's (1954). In the late 1950s, Askey began appearing in the popular Carry On series of films. She appeared in Carry On Nurse (1959), Carry On Constable (1960), and Carry On Cleo (1964). She also appeared in the television series The Avengers (1961-62) and The Saint (1963-64). In the 1970s, Askey appeared in the films The House That Dripped Blood (1971) and The Vault of Horror (1973). She also appeared in the television series The New Avengers (1976-77). Askey's last film role was in the horror film The House That Vanished (1973). She retired from acting in the late 1970s.
