Anthony Weaver is an American football coach and former player who is currently the defensive line coach for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Notre Dame and was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played for the Texans for four seasons before retiring in 2006. Weaver was born on July 28, 1980 in Killeen, Texas. He attended Ellison High School in Killeen, where he was a two-time All-District selection and was named the District Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. He then attended the University of Notre Dame, where he was a four-year letterman and two-time All-Big East selection. Weaver was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He played for the Texans for four seasons before retiring in 2006. He then began his coaching career, serving as a defensive line coach at the University of Houston from 2007 to 2009. He then served as the defensive line coach for the Cleveland Browns from 2010 to 2012. He was then hired by the Baltimore Ravens as their defensive line coach in 2013. On January 20, 2020, it was announced that Weaver had been promoted to defensive coordinator.

2010

In 2010, Weaver was hired as the Defensive Graduate Assistant at the University of Florida by Urban Meyer. When defensive line coach, Dan McCarney, took the head coaching job at the University of North Texas, Weaver was named Interim Defensive Line Coach for the Outback Bowl. Shortly after the bowl game, Weaver reunited with McCarney as the Linebackers Coach for the Mean Green. In February 2012 Weaver left North Texas for the New York Jets. There he was hired by his former coach Rex Ryan as the Assistant Defensive Line Coach. Weaver played for Ryan for four years as a Raven. In January 2013 Weaver was hired as the Defensive Line coach for the Buffalo Bills and head coach Doug Marrone. In 2016 he was hired by the Texans to be their Defensive line coach.

In 2010, Weaver was inducted into the Saratoga High Blue Streaks Hall of Fame. In 2011, he was inducted into the Capital Region Hall of Fame.

2006

In March 2006, Weaver signed a free-agent contract with the Houston Texans. He spent three seasons in Houston, where he started 44 games.

2002

Weaver was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2nd round (52nd overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft. In four seasons for the Ravens, he started 54 regular season games, as well as one playoff game.
