Anton Hrnko is a Slovak politician and historian who has served as the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of Slovakia since March 2020. He was born on 31 January 1955 in Žilina, Slovakia. He graduated from the University of Žilina in 1979 with a degree in history. Hrnko began his political career in 1990, when he was elected to the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He served as a member of the council until 1998. He then served as the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport from 1998 to 2002. Hrnko was re-elected to the National Council in 2002 and served until 2006. He then served as the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport from 2006 to 2010. In 2010, Hrnko was elected to the European Parliament, where he served until 2014. He then returned to the National Council, where he served until 2020. Hrnko is currently the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of Slovakia. He is also a member of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union – Democratic Party. As of 2021, Anton Hrnko's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
