Arisoa Razafitrimo is a Malagasy politician and former Prime Minister of Madagascar. She was the first female Prime Minister of Madagascar, serving from April 2002 to September 2002. She was also the first female Minister of Foreign Affairs of Madagascar, serving from April 2002 to September 2002. Razafitrimo was born in Toamasina, Madagascar. She studied at the University of Madagascar, where she earned a degree in economics. She then went on to pursue a master's degree in economics at the University of Paris. Razafitrimo began her political career in the early 1990s, when she was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of President Didier Ratsiraka. She served in this position until 2002, when she was appointed as the Prime Minister of Madagascar. She served in this position until September 2002, when she was replaced by Jacques Sylla. Razafitrimo is currently a member of the National Assembly of Madagascar, representing the district of Toamasina. She is also a member of the Malagasy Union for Democracy and Development (UMDD).
