Aurangzeb Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi politician and former Member of Parliament. He was born on 28 September 1959 in Feni District, Bangladesh. He is the son of late Moulana Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, a renowned Islamic scholar and former Member of Parliament. Aurangzeb Chowdhury completed his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Dhaka in 1982. He then went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the same university in 1984. Aurangzeb Chowdhury was elected as a Member of Parliament from Feni-2 constituency in the 9th parliamentary elections of Bangladesh in 2008. He was re-elected in the 10th parliamentary elections of Bangladesh in 2014. Aurangzeb Chowdhury is currently the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Education. He is also a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs. Aurangzeb Chowdhury is married to Mrs. Farida Chowdhury and they have two sons. He is an avid reader and enjoys playing cricket.
