She was best known for her song "L'Aigle Noir" (The Black Eagle), which was released in 1967 and became a hit in France and other countries. Barbara began her career as an actress in the 1950s, appearing in films such as "Les Amants de Montparnasse" (1956) and "Les Amants de Vérone" (1958). She then began to focus on her singing career, releasing her first album, "Barbara Chante Barbara", in 1962. She went on to release several more albums throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and her songs were often featured in films. In addition to her singing career, Barbara also composed music for films, including "La Femme Infidèle" (1969) and "La Gueule Ouverte" (1974). She also wrote the music for the musical "Barbara" (1977). Barbara was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1996 for her contributions to French culture. She died on November 24, 1997, at the age of 67.
