He attended Marist Brothers High School in Samoa and then moved to New Zealand to attend Auckland University of Technology. Kapisi began his professional rugby career in 2003 with the Manu Samoa. He has since played for the Hurricanes, Blues, and Chiefs in the Super Rugby competition. He has also played for the Auckland Blues in the ITM Cup. Kapisi has represented Samoa in the Rugby World Cup, Pacific Nations Cup, and the IRB Sevens World Series. He was part of the Manu Samoa team that won the Pacific Nations Cup in 2011.
