Billy Joel is an American singer-songwriter, composer, and pianist. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold over 150 million records worldwide. He has released twelve studio albums since 1971, and his most recent, Movin' Out, was released in 2013. He has also released several live albums and compilations, as well as a box set. He has won six Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Legend Award in 1990. He has also been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Billy Joel was born on May 9, 1949, in The Bronx, New York. He began playing piano at an early age and was soon performing in local clubs. In 1971, he released his debut album, Cold Spring Harbor, which was followed by Piano Man in 1973. His other albums include The Stranger (1977), 52nd Street (1978), Glass Houses (1980), An Innocent Man (1983), The Bridge (1986), Storm Front (1989), River of Dreams (1993), and Fantasies & Delusions (2001).
Billy Joel has been married four times and has three children. He is currently married to Alexis Roderick, with whom he has two daughters. He is an avid sports fan and has been a part-owner of the New York Islanders hockey team since 2014.

Billy and his wife Alexis Roderick welcomed their daughter Della Rosa Joel on August 12, 2015. Della Rose's middle name is derived from Billy's late mother Rosalinda.
