Birte Bang is a Danish actress and singer who has appeared in numerous films and television shows. She is best known for her roles in the films 'The Olsen Gang' (1968) and 'The Olsen Gang in Jutland' (1971). She has also appeared in the television series 'Matador' (1978-1982) and 'Taxa' (1997-1998). Birte Bang was born on 27 February 1940 in Gentofte, Denmark. She began her career as a singer in the 1960s, performing in cabarets and on television. She made her film debut in the 1968 comedy 'The Olsen Gang', and went on to appear in several other films, including 'The Olsen Gang in Jutland' (1971), 'The Last Exploits of the Olsen Gang' (1974), and 'The Olsen Gang on the Track' (1975). In 1978, Birte Bang began appearing in the popular Danish television series 'Matador', playing the role of the matriarch of the Thomsen family. She remained with the show until its conclusion in 1982. She also appeared in the television series 'Taxa' (1997-1998). Birte Bang has been married twice, first to actor and director Ole Ernst, and then to actor and director Henning Palner. She has two children, a son and a daughter.
