Bob Banner was an American television producer, director, and writer. He was born on August 15, 1921 in Ennis, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in radio and television production. Banner began his career in television in the 1950s, working as a producer and director for various shows, including The Jack Benny Program, The Red Skelton Show, and The Dinah Shore Show. He also wrote for several shows, including The Red Skelton Show and The Dinah Shore Show. In the 1960s, Banner produced and directed the popular game show The Hollywood Squares. He also produced and directed the game show Password, which ran from 1961 to 1967. Banner was also the executive producer of the game show Match Game, which ran from 1973 to 1979. He was also the executive producer of the game show Tattletales, which ran from 1974 to 1978. Banner was the executive producer of the game show Family Feud, which ran from 1976 to 1985. He was also the executive producer of the game show Super Password, which ran from 1984 to 1989. Banner was the executive producer of the game show Win, Lose or Draw, which ran from 1987 to 1990. He was also the executive producer of the game show Scrabble, which ran from 1984 to 1990. Banner was the executive producer of the game show Hollywood Squares, which ran from 1998 to 2004. He was also the executive producer of the game show Lingo, which ran from 2002 to 2007. Banner died on April 7, 2010 at the age of 88.

After three years in the Navy, he began his television career in 1948 while studying for his PhD at Northwestern University.
