Bobby Braddock is an American country music singer-songwriter and record producer. He is best known for writing such hits as "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and "D-I-V-O-R-C-E". He has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Braddock was born in Lakeland, Florida, and grew up in nearby Plant City. He began playing guitar at the age of nine and wrote his first song at the age of twelve. He attended the University of Florida, where he majored in journalism. Braddock moved to Nashville in 1964 and began working as a songwriter for Tree Publishing. He wrote his first hit, "D-I-V-O-R-C-E", in 1968. He went on to write such hits as "He Stopped Loving Her Today", "Golden Ring", and "The Grand Tour". He has also produced albums for such artists as George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and Reba McEntire. Braddock has been inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has won numerous awards, including the Academy of Country Music's Songwriter of the Year award in 1980 and the Country Music Association's Song of the Year award in 1981.
