Bobby Rush is an American blues and soul singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for his hit songs "Chicken Heads" and "I Wanna Do the Do". He has released over 25 albums and has been nominated for five Grammy Awards. Rush was born in Homer, Louisiana, and grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He began his career in the 1950s, playing in local bands in the Arkansas Delta. He moved to Chicago in the 1960s and released his first single, "Chicken Heads", in 1969. The song became a hit and was later covered by the likes of Otis Redding and the Blues Brothers. Throughout his career, Rush has released a number of albums, including "Rush Hour" (1972), "Folk Funk" (1975), "Raw" (1977), and "Down in Louisiana" (1980). He has also collaborated with a number of artists, including Keb' Mo', Taj Mahal, and Eric Clapton. In addition to his music career, Rush has also acted in a number of films, including "The Blues Brothers" (1980) and "The Color Purple" (1985). He has also appeared on television shows such as "The Tonight Show" and "Late Night with David Letterman". In 2020, Rush was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.
