Boris Protikj is a Macedonian politician who has served as the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia since 2017. He is a member of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM). Protikj was born in Kumanovo, North Macedonia, on 18 May 1941. He graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law in 1965. Protikj began his political career in the League of Communists of Yugoslavia in the 1960s. He was a member of the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Macedonia from 1974 to 1990. He was also a member of the Central Committee of the Socialist Alliance of Working People of Macedonia from 1990 to 1992. Protikj was elected to the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in 1994 and has been re-elected in every election since then. He was the Speaker of the Assembly from 1998 to 2002. He was also the Minister of Justice from 2002 to 2004. Protikj was elected President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in 2017. He is a member of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM). Protikj is married and has two children.
