Brian Finley is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who currently plays for the ECHL's Brampton Beast. He was drafted in the first round, sixth overall, by the Nashville Predators in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. Finley played junior hockey with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 1997 to 2000. He was named to the OHL All-Rookie Team in 1998 and was named to the OHL First All-Star Team in 2000. Finley made his professional debut with the Milwaukee Admirals of the International Hockey League (IHL) in 2000–01. He was named to the IHL All-Rookie Team and was named the IHL's Goaltender of the Year. Finley made his NHL debut with the Predators in 2001–02. He played in three games with the Predators before being sent back to the Admirals. He spent the majority of the next two seasons with the Admirals before being traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2003. Finley spent the 2003–04 season with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year. Finley spent the 2004–05 season with the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the second consecutive season. Finley spent the 2005–06 season with the Blackhawks. He appeared in one game with the Blackhawks before being sent back to the AHL. He spent the remainder of the season with the Rockford IceHogs. Finley spent the 2006–07 season with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the third consecutive season. Finley spent the 2007–08 season with the AHL's Manitoba Moose. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. Finley spent the 2008–09 season with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the fifth consecutive season. Finley spent the 2009–10 season with the AHL's Abbotsford Heat. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the sixth consecutive season. Finley spent the 2010–11 season with the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the seventh consecutive season. Finley spent the 2011–12 season with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. He was named to the AHL All-Star Team and was named the AHL's Goaltender of the Year for the eighth consecutive season. Finley spent the 2012–13 season with the ECHL's Brampton Beast. He was named to the ECHL All-Star Team and was named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Year. Finley has represented Canada at the World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2000, winning a gold medal in 2000. He also represented Canada at the World Championships in 2001 and 2002, winning a silver medal in 2002. Finley is currently 43 years old. Following his retirement from professional hockey, Finley has been working as a York Regional Police Officer since 2009.

2006

When the Predators chose not to qualify him after the 2005–06 season Finley signed as a free agent with the Boston Bruins on July 17, 2006. During the 2006–07 season he played ten games for the Providence Bruins and two games for the Boston Bruins. This would be his last professional season, as after the 2006–07 season, Finley became a Group 6 unrestricted free agent and chose to retire, having played just 4 NHL games.

2004

Finley spent the majority of his career playing in the AHL for the Milwaukee Admirals as a solid goalie. He won the Calder Cup with the Admirals in 2004. He played two career games for the Nashville Predators in the NHL, allowing 10 goals in 107 minutes.

2000

Finley as a standout junior goaltender played most of his junior hockey with the Barrie Colts of the OHL, before being traded in his final year to the Brampton Battalion. While with the Barrie Colts he led the team to the Finals of the Memorial Cup in 2000 where they lost to the Rimouski Océanic 6–3. Finley played as primarily the backup goalie for the Canadian Junior Hockey Team at the World Junior Hockey Tournament in 1999 and 2000.
