Carlos Milcíades Villalba Aquino was a Peruvian politician and lawyer who served as the President of Peru from 1975 to 1980. He was born in Lima, Peru, on August 22, 1924. He studied law at the National University of San Marcos and graduated in 1948. He began his political career in the 1950s, when he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1956. He was re-elected in 1962 and served until 1968. He was then elected to the Senate in 1968 and served until 1975. In 1975, he was elected President of Peru and served until 1980. During his presidency, he implemented a number of economic reforms, including the nationalization of the banking system and the privatization of some state-owned companies. He also implemented a number of social reforms, including the creation of a national health system and the expansion of educational opportunities.
