Cecil Bardwell was an American cinematographer and sound technician who worked in the film industry from the 1920s to the 1950s. He was born in Texas in 1894 and began his career as a camera assistant in the 1920s. He worked on a number of films, including The Big Trail (1930), The Public Enemy (1931), and The Petrified Forest (1936). He also worked on several television series, including The Lone Ranger (1949-1957). Bardwell was known for his innovative use of sound in films, and he was one of the first to use a microphone on a camera. He was also one of the first to use a boom microphone in a film. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound for his work on The Petrified Forest. Bardwell died in Los Angeles in 1959 at the age of 65. His net worth at the time of his death is unknown.
