Charlie Walker (musician) is an American country music singer and songwriter. He is best known for his hit songs "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down" and "Don't Squeeze My Sharmon". He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Walker was born in Copeville, Texas, and began performing in the 1940s. He moved to Nashville in the 1950s and signed with Columbia Records in 1956. His first hit single, "Pick Me Up on Your Way Down", was released in 1958 and became a major hit. He followed it up with other hits such as "Don't Squeeze My Sharmon", "Who Will Buy the Wine", and "Charlie's Shoes". Walker's career continued to be successful throughout the 1960s and 1970s. He released several albums and singles, and was a regular performer on the Grand Ole Opry. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Walker is now 82 years old.
