Chick Young is a Scottish journalist and broadcaster who has been a regular face on BBC Scotland's sports coverage since the 1980s. He is best known for his work on Sportscene, the BBC's flagship sports programme in Scotland. Young was born in Govan, Glasgow, on 4 May 1951. He attended St. Aloysius' College in Glasgow and then studied at the University of Glasgow. After graduating, he worked as a journalist for the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers. Young began his broadcasting career in the early 1980s, presenting Sportscene on BBC Scotland. He has since become a regular face on the programme, and has also presented other sports programmes such as Sportscene Results and Sportscene Extra. Young has also presented a number of other programmes, including the BBC Scotland series Scotland's Sporting Heroes and the BBC Radio Scotland show Sportsound. He has also written several books, including The Best of Sportscene and The Best of Sportscene Extra. Young is married to his wife, Anne, and they have two children. He is a keen golfer and is a member of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.
